    The Cyber Battle Lab is an experimentation, assessment, and IT services provider facility leveraging innovative Signal, Cyber, and EW concepts and technologies to support the warfighter and inform the requirements and acquisitions communities.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for configuring and running Battle Command Common Services (BCCS) servers and Mission Command Information Systems for annual events put on by the Cyber Battle Lab  and other organizations as required
    • Coordinate with vendors in planning and integrating their systems into the overall system architecture for experimentation events
    • Provide assistance with other projects and focused assessments done by the Live Experimentation team
    • Provide guidance to leadership in planning and helping with selecting technologies for experimentation events
    • Install, configure and manage virtualization environments.
    • Install, configure and manage physical and virtual servers, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), etc.
    • Performs a variety of tasks to include identifying servers to be virtualized, creating test environments, validation, converting servers, and maintaining virtual infrastructure.
    • Analyzes systems requirements in response to customer requirements, risks, and costs by working directly with management and system administrators.
    • Evaluates new systems information technologies and their effect on the environment.
    • Ensures that cyber security and OPSEC policies, principles, and practices are an integral element of the operating environment.
    • Integrates hardware and software components within the systems environment.
    • Continually monitors and fine-tunes performance of the Information Systems.
    • Conducts analyses of network usage, user complaints, traffic interruptions, hardware and software capabilities, and other relevant factors.
    • Identifies adverse trends, ineffective practices or procedures, equipment shortcomings, etc.
    • Apply Information Technology (IT) expertise, including feasibility studies, technical evaluation, justification, acquisition/procurement, installation, implementation, management, and administration of IT systems.
    • Configure and manage Windows operating systems.
    • Manage and maintain dynamic web server environment to include but not limited to Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL and other dynamic services.
    • Provide database support for SQL databases related to mission specific applications.
    • Services include, but are not limited to, service life-cycle maintenance of databases, and performing upgrades, and user training.
    • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problem.
    • Creates, updates and follows SOPs and other documentation.
    • Must be a quick learner with a desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
    • Responsible for helping configure and develop PEN for year round use to include preparing for experimentation events and allowing outside vendors to access a tactical environment for testing

    Required Experience/Qualifications

    • Systems Administrators supporting must have baseline IAT Level II (Security +CE) on day one.
    • Have a minimum of five years’ experience or equivalent in the following areas: IP Networks, Subnetting, and Network Security.

    Preferred Experience/Qualifications

    CCNA certification is a bonus!  Candidate must have taken and passed Microsoft Exam 70-410 “Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012”.  Then, within six months must obtain the following 1.  MS Exam 70‐411 "Administering Windows Server 2012"; or Windows training approved by the CBL IAM/COR] AND 2. VMWare = 1 of 4: [VMWare cert, "VCP6-DCV"; or Udemy tng cert, "VMware ESXi and vSphere Admin Tutorial"; ITU tng cert, "VMware vSphere VCP 5.5"; or VMWare tng approved by CBL IAM/COR ]

    Special Requirements/Security Clearance

    Candidate MUST have at minimum a SECRET security clearance, with eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance.
